Agreed. I meant degrade to regular URLs, not the #! thing. IMO you don't need the #! for something as simple as switching articles.

It's not that easy. I think the (lack of) popularity of Macs during the 90s through 2005-ish is a clear indication of that. I also disagree with the logic a bit. Where's the tipping point? At what percentage market share does it become diff

Python and Ruby are more similar than they are different. They're like 2 chocolate bars hanging out in the store, sure one has peanuts and the other has caramel but at the end of the day they're both chocolate bars. If you're happy with Pyt

The Palm Pre uses a left swipe for the back gesture. I'm unsure if that in turn was based on something else.

Ugh, not only that but it hosed my workspace :/ Don't try this in a project you're currently working on. Now I have to spend my morning trying to unfuck my project.

I think it's because this page has been rendered unreadable now. The irony of this comments page having poor readability is not lost on me :)

This situation really sucks, but remember that those of us with Telus or Shaw don't have anything to complain about at the moment so you aren't hearing about all of us on 10-25 mbps lines, with 50-200 GB soft caps that aren't enforced. I'm

I'd use RequireJS or LABjs before this, however it's based on a "microframework" called chain.js which looks pretty cool.

So it's actually better for the Ruby/Rails plugin to be dropped by Oracle. Then the community doesn't have to fork to save it from Oracle's controlling hands.

Apple released iOS 3.2 which only ran on the iPad. Then iOS 4 which only ran on phones, and then 4.2 that finally ran on both. Google may have a similar strategy in the works. 3.0 will be tablet-only, then some future version will consolida

Nitpick: I thought it didn't work because I was trying Cmd-c/v on my MacBook. I know Macs are the outlier here but it would be nice to use the native shortcuts for this.

Oh, yes I agree there 100%. I didn't mean to imply that it's not a problem in any way, just that pirating users provide some exposure too. You could argue that they also decrease exposure by not counting as a download & dollar earned in

I don't have any data on this but I'd wager that piracy increases exposure even for a top 100 app; it would just pale in comparison to the existing exposure of being a top 100 app. People using an app are people using an app no matter how t

I use my music player to play music. I don't sort through my filesystem painstakingly building a list, I just say "play songs in these genres" or "play songs in these genres that I've rated at least 3 stars". Technically these are DB querie

I remember that from the 6811s we programmed in school. BRN also takes more cycles to complete than a standard NOP (or 2 NOPs) since it performs some branching calculations before it ends up doing nothing.

Most of the time I use Chrome's console and node in a terminal. If I'm in Emacs I might fire up swank-js[1] which lets me interact with standalone JS interpreters like v8 and Rhino, but also contains a server that bridges the gap between th
