For Python I use jedi.el for Emacs ( http://tkf.github.io/emacs-jedi/latest/ ). There's also anaconda-mode ( https://github.com/proofit404/anaconda-mode ).

I've tried helm a few times but I can never stick with it. It definitely looks impressive, but I think it takes up too much room and I end up preferring the minimalism of ido in comparison.

With ido-everywhere, flx-ido and ido-vertical-mode you can get nice, fast buffer-switching with fuzzy matching via C-x b. See these two screenshots for an example: http://imgur.com/a/sZk8m

Alternatively, until homebrew is updated you can run brew edit emacs and change the url and sha256 to match 24.4, then run brew install emacs with whatever options you would like (brew options emacs for a list). I haven't tested this y

Haven't actually tried it, but I've come across https://github.com/abingham/emacs-ycmd before and it looks decent? I also use autocomplete-mode which has a bunch of hooks for pretty much every language under

The 20 slot limit being mentioned is just in regards to the demo connecting to freenode. The demo connects to freenode from a single IP address and freenode has limits on how many connections you can have from one IP. It's not somethin

As mentioned above, in Preferences -> General, untick "Prompt for test-release updates", then run a check for updates again.

Cool, I've always wanted to do something like this. I love my IRC & BNC set-up and have always thought that other chat systems could learn a lot from it, and at the same time that the process could be simplified for newer users.

In the change logs there's notes about an added Emacs mode; has anyone worked out how to enable this? Can't see anything in the command list and nothing in a brief glance through the .behaviours files.

Also my current favourite — the light version specifically, with semibold as the bold variation.

I used this for a while, but found it packed a little too tight horizontally. With widescreen monitors and languages where keeping to 80 columns is still standard, I found it was wasting too much space. There's only so much code I want

Ditto. For what it's worth I've only connected via 802.11n so far, so it could be an issue with a/b/g.

The problem I have with Akkurat Mono is there seems to be no bold/italic variations, which I often like to incorporate into themes.

Also a HHKB Pro 2 user here. Absolutely one of the best things I've ever bought. Apart from the excellent Topre switches, the small format factor is perfect as you don't need to move your hands from the home row to hit any key (Fn key with

I love Magnar's multiple cursors. I end up using it at least a few times a day, and it always saves me a ton of time.

I built this over the weekend as a way of learning Python and web.py, and having a play with Bootstrap (I'm absolutely no designer). The idea is to use Facebook check-ins as a metric of popularity for any kind of place you're looking for —

Damn, I just came back from Japan, would've loved to go! Really bummed I missed the Tokyo meetup too. I really fell in love with Japan on my trip and would've loved to find out more about the tech scene over there.

I think that was true in the past. These days, as far as I'm aware gold sellers actually spend more effort on spreading keyloggers in an attempt to steal accounts. This was particularly evident on Blizzard's WoW forums a while back where ev
