B2B magazines and websites are full of churnalism. They are unreadable. The issue here is that for every journalist there are 6 to 7 PR people. (There approx. 45,000 journalists but 297,000 PR people in the USA. PR agencies employ 114,000 p

This. People skim, they don’t read. Back in the 90's when they were looking for a killer app for browsers, who knew that video would be the real killer app (of the brain and attention).

All big projects eventually have a specific background. I totally agree. Sometimes it works. Other times it doesn't work in long term and the cursed technology debt catches up with the company.

Why are we alive? To be useful. Not happy all the kind. Everyone wants to be useful. I am not doing anything special but I do inform our community (“mankind”) for 25 years… And I feel useful because I am good at it. “Mankind” can be a group

12 years old untouched framework (Nette). It worked with PHP 5.4 but as hosting provider switched to PHP 8, I’d rather pay extra fee for 5.4 and slowly rebuild site to 8, because there are so many things you probably need to change… This is

It is not about threat. It is about that life is too short to do things that are almost nonsense. Ofc everyone of us consider “nonsense” in different way. I wish OP good luck. It was not sarcastic, I really do, and would like to hire him&#x

Every cent counts. What is wrong is that this behaviour is being perpetrated by an organisation that one would not expect to see it. Edit: Every 500 euros count… “ Today is about dark patterns that cost me 500€ for nothing.”

It is a natural entropy of web system. We could not hope that everything would remain simple. Thanks for all the open standards and frameworks that we don't have to license. And yes, it is a paralysis of choice.

Yeah, you’re right. Ease of entry brings more creative people into the industry, but over time it all boils down to ~5 hegemons, see FAANG - but those are disrupted over time by the next group (and eventually bought out by those hegemons).
