It's not about having another tool in your arsenal. This thing is meant to replace you - the developer (role). Others are correctly pointing out that developers can be really really dumb by assuming that this A-SWE will be just below t

Thanks, most people don't understand this fine difference. Copilot does RAG (as all other subscription-based agents like Cursor) to save $$$, and results with RAG are significantly worse than having the complete context window for com

True. Matches my experience. It takes much effort to get really proficient with ai. It's like learning to ride a wild horse. Your senior dev skills will sure come handy in this ride but don't expect it to work like some google que

So what are they selling with the 200 dollar subscription? Only a model that has now caught up with their competitor who sells for 1/10 of their price?

Why would they? They want to compete with claude code and that's not possible on a free tier.

ChatGPT still doesn't support MCP. It really fell behind Google or Anthropic in the last months in most categories. Gemini pro blows o1 pro away.

Matches also my experience that openai fell behind with their deep search product. And that deep search is basically the top tier benchmark for what professionals are willing to pay. So why should i shell out 200 dollar for an openai subscr

I'm sorry, you were totally right. Sam Altman for example wasn't candid in his communications with board and investors. For that he was fired as CEO of openai and lives now a miserable live in poverty.

I wouldn't take that advice seriously. Suit in tech would be awkward (even for most mgmt roles). Tech pioneered the concept that you don't need a suit to get the pay of a suit. You can be yourself.
