“Made in America” comes up a lot, then when it comes time to needing Americans for the work, these factories either downsize, close, or just move to some faraway country again. It’s like the thing that gets people excited only to deflate ag

Looking back at Wechat from how it was since ~2013, I think there’s a decent amount of recency bias influencing it as “the everything app”. It definitely wasn’t close to being as horizontally integrated until recently. On another note about

100%. It feels like a bait and switch. They say “we created brex because it’s hard to get banking as a startup”, and then what do you know… now they don’t want to bank startups and are giving them the boot. It’s just annoying as hell. A bun

A taser-drone looks like an expensive remedy designed to be a money-sucker than an actual solution. Instead of making schools safer, pretty soon we'll just have a bunch of defense companies lined up to sell snake-oil bandaid solutions

Is there even any data or evidence to support the claims that letting farmers repair their tractors with OEM parts is going to result in deaths and injuries? And wouldn’t there already be company liability protections and user agreements in

I can see agricultural land going down even further in the future as techniques, incentives, and people dynamics change. How much of what we farm is really just 'superficial agriculture' and not 'survival-driven agriculture&#

The main lesson of the story is not that he was using crypto, but that he was conscientiously trying to enrich himself by conducting illegal activities with a sanctioned dictatorship. Personally, if he’s being this blunt about his intention

I heard about this company on an NPR podcast, and the mission sounded pretty cool and the founder talked about interesting customer experience points, but then I never saw Fast ever being used in practice. I think I read somewhere they only

Why would employees want a subscription though? Considering you can buy a Xiaomi scooter for like $400 (which is easily affordable to most google employees), then why would someone want the extra hassle of managing a subscription to avoid p

The tweet is certainly bad taste and something that would be appalling if said out loud, however, this seems like a bit over-the-top judicial response to tweets. Isn’t stuff like this why the ‘report’ function exists? Or couldn’t the gov ju

Do you think it’s more lucrative in tax money for the government if they continue doing things the way they are or if there were pre-filled taxes sent to each american to confirm? If I think about the state/federal tax services like bu

People do this for so long too. Sometimes nearly an hour will pass and someone’s car/truck/van will just be sitting double-parked or in some other non-parking spot with the engine running and blinkers flashing. It’s like dude… t

$5B seems low. If it was $5B, then companies with that kinda cash can just vacuum up any early stage companies that could even come close to growing into sizable competitors. In a way, it kinda seems like kneecapping the exit potential for

I think that the value of IP protection makes sense for health & safety, and also for small/growing businesses that don't want to be shut-out from bad actors. Where it gets worse is when it gets enforced by some giant behemoth

General question: Who pays for something like this? Or how does the cost splitting work? Because, in theory, why wouldn't every small nation ask for this if some other nation's taxpayers foot at least 50% of bill?

If employees can apply for fully-remote or a closer office to them and, according to the article, about 85% of those applications are approved, then this doesn't seem as ominous as the headline makes it sound.
