I'm kinda surprised that Apple is breaking the 3 years software support pattern with iPad 1 (Jan 2010) and iOS 6 (Sep 2012); even when they dropped PPC, they still support PPC until Snow Leopard released in 2009, 3 years after the final PPC

This is not exactly Jelly Bean's problem but it's one thing I can't stand. When you quickly scroll page and stop it using single tap, if that tap happens to fall onto tappable element (e.g. links), the element will be tapped . Both stock

Likely. I remembered OSX used to have few issues with GIF rendering in Core Graphics, but I'm sure Chrome and Firefox aren't using Core Graphics for GIF rendering. Strange.

I tested on Chrome 23, Firefox 15 and Safari 6 on Mac OS X. All the same result. Edit: looks the same in Photoshop too: http://i.imgur.com/nu90E.png

If you're already a Linux user then this is good, but it is definitely not enough to convince Windows gamers to switch.

This is a chicken and egg problem: gamers are not attached to Steam, they're attached to the game itself. Having Steam in Linux doesn't mean all big titles will work in Linux overnight. Valves title alone won't be enough. It has been over t

In Python world we have webassets[1] that does something similar (to Jammit, anyway). It is a little bit more complicated to use than Sprockets but I'd argue that it is also a bit more flexible. (Thanks to filters chaining e.g. compile SASS

I thought the "the biggest thing to happen to iPhone" tagline is a pretty cute pun referring to the increased physical height until I read this thread. Seems like I'm the only one thinking that. Oh well, tagline done terribly, I guess.

Perhaps Apple need to reword their warning message[1] to scare people away from enabling it. The only indication that user is going to enable Remote Wipe is a little "erase a lost Mac" text, which I guess most people will just ignore it. [1

Yes it won't, but when you have to introduce the concept of multiple files could point to the exactly same data on the hard drive and no, it's not a "copy" of that file, it's rather mind-blowing.

This issue will be (is?) solved with the "Client IP information in DNS requests " DNS extension[1]. A year ago, David Ulevitch (OpenDNS's owner) mentions in HN post that he already got it working for all Google properties and few other CDNs

I don't know about its Node.JS implementation, but I think TapChat works great as a lightweight client to IRCCloud[1] (which is kind of like a bouncer on its own and don't have much option to configure to begin with). It simply Just Works™.
