I know many people who are extremely productive doing CRUD apps using Django. I am not one of those people. They claim it is very fast development once you get past some comfort level. There is a bit of jump involved when it just clicks. I&

I remember using Actionscript to build some UI widgets for embedded devices and ... not hating it. The devices used proprietary level 7 protocol sitting on top of regular TCP/IP (could easily debug using netcat). Actionscript made it e

Patrick (patio11) had a dream of working in Japan and a belief in a rational just world. That dream and belief was shuttered when the reality of being an overworked gaijin for an uncaring zaibatsu settled in. His ticket out proved not to be

30 years later I still love K&R . Harbison & Steele is a fantastic reference. However, I could never get into SICP mostly because it was so... impractical and pure. Besides i'd had enough of RPN working on https://en

What's Ionic's real business model? They have enterprise support version but my gut feeling is that they make more money on the tooling.

The problem is that pure rationality leads into abyss. There might be a rational decision not to punch people directly into face but a purely rational psychopath can choose many other profitable avenues that are disastrous to society at lar

There really isn't a good one. For heuristics(non ML) based stuff you could try BoofCV which is written in Java, so for Python there is a wrapper https://pypi.org/project/PyBoof/ http://boofcv.org&

Adrian's site is fantastic resource for OpenCV with Python. I am not a huge fan of OpenCv itself though. OpenCV is riddled with gotchas(ie this algorithm does not run out of the box because someone has patented it/trying to paten

There are way too many red flags here(only playing superhumanly at the RFID games, in fact not playing elsewhere, etc). There are some similarities to chess cheating here. There were defenders to the infamous Borislav Ivanov too ( https:

I am still amazed CSS Grid named areas are not used more often. To me the named areas are the first time that CSS layout makes sense and I first did layouts in tables in the late 90s.

I've been debating buying remarkable but wonder how reMarkable reading experience compares to Sony 13 inchers? My favorite e-ink e-reader(I own several from 5inches to 13inches) by far is the original Sony DPT-S1. It is so light for 13
