It’s still not great. I drove I5 North for the holidays and at one stop there was an hour+ long wait at Electrify America. Only 3/4 stalls working and a queue 5 or 6 deep to charge. At the same stop there were 12+ Tesla chargers and no

I am very interested in how small these arrays can be. From talking with a friend with cochlear implants, I would assume this could help dramatically with the right signal processing to help him hear.

Love this! Have been doing something similar with HAProxy + Cloudflare Tunnels, but would love to move off it at somepoint. Super curious to give it a run soon. Thanks for sharing!

i dont believe that local ai implies bad experience. i believe that the local ai experience can be better than what runs on servers fundamentally. average people will not have to do it themselves, that is the whole point. the worlds are not

i think local ai systems are inevitable. we continue to get better compute, and even today we can run more primitive models directly on an iPhone. the future exists in low power compute running models of the caliber of gpt-4 inferring in ne

I think this depends on if homomorphic encryption is feasible and fast. This would alleviate most of the concerns here.

Can you shed more light on this? Do you mean in terms of beam forming? And other radio resource management complexities that arise from it? I worked in 5G mmWave on the UE side so can imagine some of the scheduling complexity. However for a

To be fair it is using their own hardware (Graviton2, mentioned in the article). Other than Ampere are there any other hardware vendors offering ARM based server CPU's that are commercially available?

Thanks for sharing the links to Google Cloud Anchors and Azure! Quickly looked through the docs of both, excited to try them out and see how well they work :) I used Apple's Geo Anchors, but found it pretty limiting for my use case (la

I think you're spot on. The documentation for AR Kit is top notch, and includes TONS of sample code that is easily understandable with minimal iOS development knowledge. Perhaps I'm still too new to AR Kit, but to me it doesn&#x

This is one of the things I have trouble understanding too. It’s a complex issue, but it seems like it would be best opened to the public where next generation radio technologies can evolve. I don’t think 5G/LTE will go away but there

Um... Yes they are. The Galaxy S10 5G has a mmW radio in it that’s transmits mmW waves for the uplink. The 5G spec also requires certain protection when the UE (phone) Tx wave might go through tissue. But you’re correct that it doesn’t mak

I hope this is where Google is headed with Fuschia OS. I wouldn't want to hack together a seamless transition from phone to desktop environment on Android. With a whole new platform written from the ground up to support it makes sense
