Not knowing requires epistemic awareness, which LLM simply does not possess. I guess one can cleverly simulate it, but I doubt it’s the goal of OpenAI.

I stopped reading after the passage “and works independently [to achieve AGI]”. In my book, it’s impossible to achieve such breakthrough by working alone, regardless who the man/woman is.

If you mean there is no if/then keywords in the language then yes, PROLOG is one. But if you mean there is no branching, no comparison (conditional branching) then NO. Even the most basic Turing machine has to decide, and to be able t

The self report of the deputy managing editor (link in the article) is IMO ways more interesting. The question “for what people serves this kind of technology” is a non-brainer, though. The traffic (and so the world) would be much better an

I understand the psychological effect of termination during the night. But rationally thinking, I don’t find any difference to other forms of termination. For the company though, the prompt termination has a much better security prospect.

The 2 millions a year part seems to sour the mood for many people. But it reminds me that all the results are controlled and verified by a lot of independent doctors using strict protocols. I have no reason to doubt his claim. Even better,

I wonder why people at the helm of Google still seem to support Democrats. Didn’t they buy enough lobby or they didn’t see it coming?

Same issue I faced with Tabnine. I'm coding in many languages simultaneously, and I noticed that Tabnine produced often invalid code, suggested functions which are non-existing at all.

ChatGPT seems very good at summarizing text. I wonder why Google AI would not summarize the top articles (when asked about facts) instead of guessing the next word like what ChatGPT does.

The German translation is hilariously as bad as the Google translation. And the exact duplication, word by word, makes it looks very suspiciously ;) DeepL translation (a German-based AI company) is ways more natural: "Was in den Medien

I don’t think the issue of Google is a lack of advanced AI technology but the transfer and realization of products. So many Google’s products are half-backed, only half-heartedly developed and then be buried at the end. For a giant like Goo

I wonder what kind of engineering problems you’ve talked with ChatGPT. Because its limited understanding of spatial problems, I found it hard to use it for mechanical engineering. How did you do it?

Why one would store secondary information instead of the original ones is beyond my comprehension. If I’m about to study human voices, I’d store samples of human voices, compressed maybe but not just the output of some processing program.

For me, it’s quite clear in the reading, though. You have to read as it presented (label + switch). For example: vSync ==> [On] vSync [Off] <== I honestly can’t think to read it otherwise. For the negative labeling, it’s of
