I care. I use Firefox for all my browsing now. Haven't come across anything it can't do. The extensions actually seem better and more diverse than chrome. I actually prefer the UI to chrome also. I only use chrome for web developm

I agree. No dependencies is nice, but you step into a myre of dealing with low level pdf faffery. I'd rather let a very robust external tool with proven reliability

If you wanted to replace a bunch of characters in a string. I.e. all 'a' to 'b' you can operate on the span, and not have to re-allocate a new string after each replacement
