I think it's a really cool idea. I signed up because I had a brain fart and thought that "EST" was "European Standard Time" (I was of course thinking of CET). So yeah, the current window wouldn't work for me, b

Yeah, I might use “googling” to mean generic web search in everyday language, but I wouldn’t use it to refer to a site’s internal search function, and I wouldn’t use it at all in a technical description of some software.

The README says: > Instead of googling for the site, I google for the site's Wikipedia article This seems like a bit of unfortunate wording – there does not seem to be a Google search involved, just a search directly on Wikipedia (t

The claim ”smallest readable 3x4 font” is a bit confusing. Are there bigger 3x4 fonts?

Testcontainers is not shelling out to the docker CLI; at least on Java, it is using a Java implementation of the docker network protocol, and I believe that’s the case also for the other platforms. Not sure this matters for the core argumen

I was thinking that something about having communicative skills should be added to the list, but struggled to reframe that as a flaw… any ideas?

This is what I’ve been doing for years, with some aliases to set work or personal. But honestly, I’ve started to find it annoying enough (for those first commits) to start wanting something else; yet still not annoying enough for me to rese

That is entirely unneccessary. An == expression will always evaluate to 1 or 0. The !!x trick can be useful in some other situations, though. Here’s a thing you could do (but I don’t know why): += !(c-’s’) - !(c-’p’)

Yes, they reserve the possibilty to completely redo or even remove these preview features. They are not enabled by default, you have to opt in with a compiler flag.

I did not mean the cli itself (such as bash), but small programs it executes (such as ls). Also not arguing for the practice as a general strategy, but feels like it could have a place!

With ”short-lived”, I rather meant something like: ”does one job and then exits”, as opposed to something more dynamic – of course, that it takes a long or short time to execute isn’t by itself relevant.

This is true. However, the issue is with the tool outputting unstructured data to begin with. As the `jc` author says, the best would be if tools supported structured output formats to begin with. Any custom parser of ls output would potent
