Don't use floats (it wasn't a 3D game) or if you have to, make sure every float is derived from an integer that's kept in sync. And don't do anything that affects simulation state based on those floats.

By row house do you mean something like this? https://goo.gl/maps/XTDwyAZy6GoqPRXt7 That's 4-5 stories of ~4 apartments per floor, times however many of those buildings fit in the 900ft/247m length of a block

Nit: They don't do both at the same time. The trucks are either plowing snow or they're picking up trash. That's why the trash piles up until the snow is cleared. After big storms you can end up with pretty epic piles of garb

IME that's true until around 250 lines or so (this one is 500+). Then you've passed the point where "rewrite it in something more scalable / testable / maintainable" can easily be done, and you start having end

Went to Mexico. Tent is dry but I'm still soaked, now with a combination of rain and sweat. Please advise.

For the free T-shirt, of course. The finisher's medal, if there is one, is an added bonus. (Not sarcasm)

The two deposit thing is pretty standard. A little odd, but it gets the job done and presumably does so using existing ACH interfaces (so they don't need to implement anything new or rely on the receiving bank to do the same)

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I figured transpiling would get you something that's at least black box testable using modern techniques. Then you start incrementally converting bits of it into idiomatic Java,

The same argument applies to airplanes, but both airplanes and tanks have certain advantages that on balance exceed the risk of them getting blown up.

Personally I preferred the basic listings to the machine language ones, with the asm listings somewhere in the middle. With the basic listings you could understand what you were typing in as you did it. With ml you’re just a monkey typing

I think that translates to "why not have the taxpayer pay for college education too?" Which means that the person who doesn't need/get a college education (think your electrician) is now stuck paying for those who choose

Because it’s a slow news day? It’s the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in the US. Bank Holiday weekend in the UK too.

I suspect people whose living depends on keeping up with the news will pay. Consider Bloomberg, FT, WSJ, etc. Many people pay for those, and for good reason.

I don’t try to put the documentation next to the thing being described because then I’ll lose track of it. I set up a simple Gollum wiki and put everything there. That way I get md for useful formatting, version control on the docs without

It's probably a mistake to put "SUVs and trucks" all in one bucket. Can you even fit a third car seat in a crew cab pickup, assuming two adults in the front? See https://advocacy.consumerreports.org/research&#

Sun didn't have a monorepo -- at least not 1998 through the acquisition. Each org of a given size (Solaris os/net, install, etc) had its own separate island of source with its own build and test systems.

Deliveries left unsecured on a doorstop is a common practice in the US, typically found in low-crime residential areas. It was by no means invented by Amazon -- it's been a thing for a long time.
