My first thought was "this already exists, it's called HN/reddit/producthunt/etc" then I realised most of the times I upvote items just because they have a lot of upvotes/comments. Side project idea: HN&#x

Of course, nobody needs more than 640K of memory either. Seriously, though, although I'm sure 4K will become somewhat commonplace in 10 years, the rate of progress for desktop screens is ridiculous compared to the mobile world. I still

In case people are wondering, the 150 people dead are from a recent Germanwings crash. https://www.google.com/search?q=germanwings+crash&tbm=nws As someone living in Cologne who flies with them frequently... yikes!

As someone who thinks about making a HTML/CSS/JS replacement at some point in the future, I look forward to these guys completely fucking up the standard.

Macbook + Vagrant, just don't get a MBA. While light and portable, you'll eventually get annoyed at the lack of more oomph.

For me the best bit was "director of product management for Google Now". Were they playing Enterprise FizzBuzz when they came up with the role names?

Wrt the first paragraph: it's almost as if Steve Jobs knew what he was setting up to do. :) I find it a very rare occurrence of respect towards your craft and your customers paying off in the long run.

I've been using/following RethinkDB since I started as Lavaboom's CTO. It's been a smooth ride so far, and the occasional perf improvements are always welcome. Some aspects of the database are especially lovely, like the

Conspiracy theories are bullshit 99% of the time, but you must be an idiot to think it's difficult to stage such a thing. Naivety is not a very cute trait in adults (but probably not as dangerous as chemtrail-type stupidity).
