It's short for Somalia. I don't think Notion has ever said why they chose it, though?

I've used 101domain for these sorts of TLDs in the past - they offer a trustee service that can generally satisfy locality requirements.

Google Cloud revenue (which includes Workspace revenue) was $26B in 2022. That's only 10% of Google's total revenue, but to put it in perspective, all of Salesforce did $31B.

Yeah, I was going to mention Vista as well. A startup I worked for was acquired by a Vista portfolio company and they made us all take the CCAT: https://www.criteriacorp.com/assessments/cognitive-aptitude/...

Yeah, the entire venture capital model is based on outlier outcomes. They don't want 2x or even 10x returns, they want 1000x returns on the outliers, so in aggregate they can hopefully 5-10x the fund overall.

Yeah I'm sure there are some. You asked if it was played out, and in my opinion the answer is yes. It sounds like you have a -ly name you want to use though, in which case, go for it!

You're about ten years behind the trend on this one. I think .io, .ai, and .so are this decade's equivalent.

Recumbent bikes definitely are more efficient due to aerodynamics if nothing else. I suspect being able to push back against the seat helps too, though.

A couple other similar options are Vercel ( https://vercel.com ) and Fly ( https://fly.io ), but there are several of these. Vercel might be the best choice if you're building with Next, though.

Replika has fascinated me since I first heard about it, and the implications of making changes to the AI that many users have emotional attachments to are kind of wild.

Thanks for checking it out! A Teams integration is definitely in the backlog, but I should probably bump it up now that you mention it. The average Jira-using scrum team is probably also pretty likely to be a Teams user.

Also worth noting that the Ruby 3.2 Docker image can't run with YJIT yet, so if your production setup is in a container, it's most likely not using YJIT. GitHub issue link here: https://github.com/docker-library&#x

I live in Portland and there's a "PDX Startups" Slack community here that grew out of a similarly-named #pdxtech channel on IRC. I assume other midsized cities would be similar.
