The example in this post is the way I built a news feed for zazazu.tv except I used PHP instead of Rails. We stored each unique feed in MongoDB and then insert a reference to the unique feed to each user's stream (using Gearmand). Fast and

I'd say Dailybooth has evolved passed the idea of just taking a photo in the same pose every day of the year in to more of a photo-based communication tool.

Like you said in your post, I have done the opposite myself and I started out a designer creating pixel based isometric-style web designs and slowly converted in to a developer. I'd say it's more than possible for someone to become a design

Yeah, it was the choice between skipping further education or going straight in to work that was my dilemma rather than "dropping out" of education as it would be in the US, etc.
