I use a single tab for indentation, and too much exposure to Java and the Eclipse default indentation size (4 spaces per tab) made me used to it. I also find it easier to look at python code indented by 4 spaces per tab. Since I also tend t

I noticed the iPad bevel as soon as I left it on top of a table. It has a useful benefit though: when grabbing it from the table it's easier to get the fingers around the edge.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. Some more info: If you give a founder (or early employee) more than they're going to be worth in the long term, you'll feel increasingly motivated to fire them and recover their un-vested stock. If you giv

I don't post very often on HN, but I like to recall my little story. So I was around 6 and we had a 386 at home, with DOS. I knew the very basics to "cd" into a "dir", and type the dir name again to start the program. Of course this didn't

How about increasing the price as the stock diminishes, then return it to the "regular" price as stock catches up? Another idea: instead of starting at $50, start at, say, $80 and boost the perceived value of the product too. Some people wi

How about the following: whenever a user down votes a comment, a popup comes up describing the community rules for downvotes (e.g. "don't down vote just because you disagree", etc). After having been shown this box a couple of times it coul

Recently I compared Portugal's GDP with the revenue of a couple of companies. A workforce of 5.52 million from a population of 10.71 million produces around $244.64 billion; Microsoft, Apple and Google combined employ around 148 thousand
