If it had proper Alt+Tab... and maybe a full screen mode, it would be usable...

personally, I'd only consider a DSL to be good and useful if it can be implemented in different ways/languages, etc... It's not good if a DSL is language specific leaky abstraction. Regex is a good example of a DSL.

As someone from a country where dubbing is not a thing (except for kids cartoons), YouTube behavior is very annoying... Translated subtitles are useful though, even if often very bad.

You must also be careful not to generate "get-if-modified", or such checks.

I'd sacrifice some battery life to have a Thinkpad (example: T14 gen 5), with the superior keyboard, Touch point and smaller touchpad (the Mac one is annoyingly too large).

The attempt to replace action buttons with gestures is already making it worse for me... I disabled it immediately.

Hmm, maybe I need to reconsider having my choice of fonts enforced in my web browser settings (or have a whitelist of "comic sans", at least)

There is no technical problem with escape sequences if all consumers/generators use the same logic/standard... The problem is when some don't and skip steps (like failing to encode or not parsing properly).

Maybe WaitForMultipleObjects limit of 64 (MAXIMUM_WAIT_OBJECTS) applies? An ugly limitation on an API that initially looks superior to Linux equivalents.

It's not just Youtube, if there wasn't a google.com/ncr, I'd have to seek alternatives a long time ago. And many other sites that confuse country with language (geizhals.eu, ... etc)

+1 I've come to realize that the rear fingerprint sensor is even more important than the audio jack for me.

That is an acceptable compromise... it would be nice to have a second USB-C (for reduncancy, if nothing else).

I have a conspiracy theory that MS made IBM move the control key to kill WordStar, which had the superior keyboard shortcuts.

It would be nice if we could use Ctrl+Break instead of Ctrl+C... also, use SysRq instead of Ctrl+Z.

IMO flatpak should assume untrusted too, unless it's a distro specific repository of strictly reviewed/controlled code (like Fedora Flatpak repo, etc).

> Writing emails - once I knew what I wanted to convey, the rest was so trivial as to not matter, and any LLM tooling just got in the way of actually expressing it as I ended up trying to tweak the junk it was producing. +1 LLM will help

Yeah... similiarly, any CO2 tax money if there was one needs to simply be "burnt".

I would absolutely do this for any non-toy project. Alternatively, for some project it might be enough to only depend on stuff provided by Debian stable or some other LTS distro.

Same here... 1440p 32" is optimal for me, the only improvement I'd consider right now is 1600p equivalent.

Good stuff. As an alternative, has someone tried running http/s proxy on the firewall and blocking the rest of client HTTPS (except maybe for whitelist devices)?

I remember about 15 years ago running Windows + VS in VMWare because I could skip installing Office inside the VM and the system would run noticeably faster.

IMO, the prompt is more clearly copyrightable than the output image... which is also the derived work of all the training data.
