Anything not CUA compatible feels aged... unfortunately, the standard "terminal" keyboard support is very poor regarding this things (escape key is often broken, modifier keys often compose well at all). What is really needed is a

It's really surprising that it's rare in functional languages. Immutability seems like it should guarantee no cycles (?), so reference counting could be used.

It would have to be a stream anyway, so you could do it for your program by using a fd=3, like: prog 3<input_args or by using a here-document prog 3<<END args END

I can easily imagine compiler+linker being able to forbid recursion and statically calculate maximum stack needed. Probably you need to ban general function invocation via pointers... methods on objects could be fine, you just evaluate all

I'm fine with using tabs, but my tab width will be set to 8... be sure to obey line length limits with that in mind.

Could one disable statistics completely? Personally, I'd prefer to specify the execution plan manually.

I had 2x and I wasn't done... and this was a C with classes style project, so minimal templates and header complexity.. A much better alternative than precompiled headers.
