Thanks, I think. But no, I didn't mean to pick on California as a bad state, I thought for some reason most people thought it was a nice state. I do, at least, despite its warts. All I meant to say is that we can find many reasons ev

37th/50 isn't good. But people never clamor on about how awful California is every time it's mentioned(well, rarely). This same ranking puts states like South Dakota and Indiana ahead, which I'm sure many would object

Here's another list - Highest poverty rate? Lowest literacy rate? Last in opportunity? 8th worst in public safety? If you guessed California, you'd be right. Sweeping generalities and handpicked metrics do not tell an entire story

I think that's the point of these questions, to have no clear answer. So a presidential candidate picks a vice president running mate. Voters vote for the pair. The electoral college then, usually but not always, cast votes matching

I'd argue even C could be seen as correct. The president chooses his running mate, after all.

Joke aside, I don't think any of those are El Paso or Juarez. Top one is Nogales, the one with the Rio Grande has water in it so can't be El Paso, probably closer to Brownsville.

I guess I didn't realize insurance for kids was now that expensive. That's insane! I have a few years til mine is able to drive, that's going to be a fun conversation...

I keep reading about ridiculous insurance prices the last few years, but it seemingly never affects me. Do most people tend to get lots of moving violations and in accidents or something? I have two vehicles, mid range limits, one brand ne

This wasn't true the last time I messed with it. I used synaptic to install packages, and many would just install the snap version anyways. Has that changed?

Ubuntu was leaps ahead of Mandrake at least in installation friendliness, which, let's face it - is often the biggest hurdle getting people interested. The installer wasn't bad, but kinda threw you to the wolves wrt partitioning

That's interesting. It's probably still more work than I'd want to do, especially when out and about. Is there an app that essentially does this? Does this one?

I think you'll find the price at that volume and without subsidy a bit higher than a lot of people want to pay. It may be cheaper and even easier to just buy and somehow modify Onn/Hisense into dumb displays, though I've neve
