What a wonderfully content-free discussion on hacker news regarding crypto currency. Again. They're all the same. Crypto scammers. It's so tiresome. At least acknowledge the difference between ICO funds, NFTs, native tokens, infla

Whimsy. Is there a sequence of fusion technologies where the previous one lights the next one and if the current one goes out we're fucked?

The binary search in a case statement is annoying for stack machines like this. How would implementing your own jump table as a hashmap to functions perform here vs a case statement? I'm guessing the function calls make it a lot slower

I've been running NixOS for 2 months having had my eye on it for a while. So far I feel like I'm making progress. Having started from the masochism of Gentoo followed by the relatively lesser masochism of Arch my feeling is at lea

We need to distinguish nodes written in Rust vs smart contracts. Given the context assuming smart contracts you may have a point. Often consensus will be much slower and a limiting factor in execution. Solana may be a bit different here in

The miners do have the power to hard fork - they can choose to run a node that implements the fork > A hard fork is determined by the users, who have to upgrade their software. Who are 'the users' here? Light clients? Users of

There's plenty wrong with Ethereum, but casting miners as 'the working class' is a flawed analogy. The mercantile class would be closer to the mark. Notably, their hashing power is based in real world economic power and they
