The OP is referring to Apple's iPhone power/usb connector cable, as seen in this picture: http://i.imgur.com/yAywo.jpg . The dock connector strain relief is decidedly weaker (I have had two or three break on me personally) than other Apple

Ah, right, that makes sense. Well then someone should put together a rainbow table of collisions with actual songs, haha.

Are the mp3s going to be in the cloud? Or on my hard drive? ... because it seems like it would be trivial to "spoof" an mp3 for downloading (take a random mp3, perhaps cut to the correct length, add the correct id3 tags and tell iTunes Matc

Gah, motion smoothing. More than once, I've been asked by friends why their brand new huge LCD TV "makes movies look like they're filmed with a handicam." Always the same answer: turn off motion smoothing. It's a silly feature to ship with

Bummer. I love the Slicehost interface... so simple! I hope they retain all the linux tutorials on Slicehost, that's what made me join anywhere. The content in those is pure gold.

"Better" doesn't necessarily mean more readable or understandable. I'm not an expert by any means, but the flow of the text on the right is a bit disconcerting (e.g. spacing of "Regular Classes" - half of typography is negative space), not

That's correct, unless the object is autoreleased, in which case the system will get around to deallocating it after the current run loop iterates (provided you're using the default autorelease pool).

You were downvoted for adding a snidey remark to a decent question. Next time just ask the question. Since I'm curious as well, how does Tumblr make money besides themes? Does anyone know their monetization strategy?

I don't think so... isn't the keyboard disabled in Flash fullscreen? Same goes for Silverlight and Java applets.

I used to do the same thing, but a little differently. I used SleepWatcher as well, ( http://www.bernhard-baehr.de/ ), but set it up to run the following script, which uses isightcapture ( http://www.intergalactic.de/pages/iSight.html )

Using Safari 5.0.2, after clicking "Share my location" and then searching, it used Manhattan as my location, and I had to go and manually change it in the search options.

You may want to download TinkerTool ( http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html ) and set font smoothing to "light". Here's a before and after screenshot I just made: http://imgur.com/gOffi

One comment: on your home page, http://embed.ly , you might want to change the font that is used in the blurb "Convert your links into embeddable content..." It's narrow and really strains my eyes to read. It looks like it's meant to be u

Maybe you could turn one on, capture the positions of the dots, and then turn the other on, and somehow guess which one was which when the 3d mesh changes (from motion)?

Are you redirecting based on user-agent string? The iPad reports Mobile Safari in its user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B367 Safari/531.

I thought this idea had been around forever? I've seen it implemented with turntables before, which adds a nice touch. Edit: It's been done with legos: http://philohome.com/scan3d/scan3d.htm Also, check out the MilkScanner, very cool! h
