Yes, for now. Jio's rival Airtel owns satellite/cable tv platforms and even supplies wired internet in parts of major cities. No one with any ambition has really tried wired internet in India -- for a long time the only way to get

I believe Aadhar is mandatory if you're filing tax in India[1]. And the government earlier in the year passed a bill to undo some of the supreme court protections and facilitate sharing of Aadhar data with third parties[2]. So unless y

Broadly, no. I know the other reply said: > 35$ for 1TB up/down, 150 Mbps. Available in all major cities. Good enough? But that's affordable for a very thin slice of the population. Remember that India's average nominal

Multiple SIMs are indeed common but I believe the drivers that caused people to have two SIMs will go down with time. Unlike some other countries, India's mobile rates are very competitive (cheapest in the world, in fact) so there'

Not strictly Java, but Groovy is a great environment to prototype on the JVM. Prototyping was lightning fast and turning it into Java code was pretty quick too. There’s great IDE support for it too (IntelliJ’s Groovy scratches). These days

Sadly, there’s a fair amount of sniping[1] in parts of the Go community if you use “Golang” instead of “Go”. [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18717303

I wish Google learned from Go/Golang (i.e., where a nontrivial number of people refer to Go as Golang, much to the displeasure of some of the authors) and use names which are easy to search for. I'm not looking forward to people m

The code samples look okay for me (did the author tweak the stylesheets?), but the text uses an 'engraved' look using CSS's text-shadow (like iOS Notes but a bit worse because of the serifs) which makes it a bit hard to read.

I believe Google does offer support to consumers via Google One (where available), it’s priced very reasonably too. One of Google One’s selling points Google advertises is phone based access to Google experts.

If your dev workstations are virtualized already, why not ask your tooling team to provide virtualized Linux workstations? If you deploy to Linux this is something they should provide anyway, for dev/prod parity.

Yes @ absurd level of abstraction, EnterpriseFizzBuzz even manages to laugh at this old-school 'Enterprise' style of writing code[1]. Some enterprises have managed to move away from this though -- DevOps in the enterprise is real

iCloud is great for Mac/iOS users. I never felt it worked well on Windows. It never felt right. So yes, Apple still has work to do if they want wider iCloud use. Maybe they don't want to? But Microsoft and Google are creeping up.
