IMHO, Docker Marketing has been always been very confusing. I have only looked at Docker very casually over the years. I remember the first time I was browsing through docker.com to figure out what Docker is exactly. It would have been s

What would be some reasons to use SDF or Hashbang? Running my own system on Digital Ocean or a similar service seems quite straightforward.

I hope they improve things on the iMac as well. The situation with the current iMacs is ridiculous. The 27 inch iMac has user-accessible SO-DIMM slots, but the 21 inch iMac has the memory glued on.

There's more than one kernel. Your emphasis and capitalization does not make it clear which one you mean.

I don't think tmux can talk to serial ports. I am primarily a tmux user, but use screen if I need a serial console. e.g. screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200

By "modular", Apple probably means that it is easier for themselves to provide multiple configurations and make updates, rather than end-users having the ability to stick in random cards/drives/memory/CPUs.

What about UDP clients? I don't see anything in the CVE to suggest a client vs server distinction in terms of (mis-)behavior.

This probably does not need a full Xcode install, just the command line tools. The CLT can be installed on a pristine macOS system just by typing cc inside Terminal.

Would this be an issue in Common Lisp? I believe CL function arguments are evaluated left-to-right.

I do not disagree with you even a little, and not just because C is my bread and butter. At this point, I am merely curious about examples of large projects doing a successful switch from language A to language B. I just remembered reading

I am neck deep in C, pretty much all the time, from actual bare metal (i.e. no OS) all the way up to application code, so none of what you mentioned is atypical use of C to me :p I do not mean to trivialize compilers, linkers and assemblers

When I said "atypical", I was thinking more along the lines of that it is not unusual for compilers to eventually be self-hosting.

I too am curious to know of large and prominent C projects rewritten in another language successfully. One recent atypical example that I can think of is the Go compiler.

These do not look like very credible examples. According to NoVM's GitHub page, it has not been updated in two years. go-tcpip does not actually have a TCP implementation.

The project README doesn't use this word either. The Forth source code is compiled to Tcl procedures for execution in the Tcl run time system.
