Doesn't look like it. Page 18 says C0 is almost but not quite a subset of C. Though we strived to stay as close to C as possible, the array semantics proved impossible to resolve. However, it is still quite easy to convert a C0 progra

Any particular reason why build environments cannot rely on cross compilation for producing OS distributions?

This port was done to address the proliferation of build time dependencies on GLib; the cross-compilation hassle of having a small C utility being built and used during the build Anyone know what cross-compilation hassle are they talkin

I find vocals distracting so when I listen to music while working, it is either movie or video game soundtracks or classical music.

Your hardware might still pull the rug from under you with caches, prefetching, NUMA, out-of-order execution, speculative execution and other stuff.

I am actually quite surprised by this and to me it looks like people are just overcomplicating things. You get on a plane, you turn on Airplane Mode. Simple. It would never ever occur to me in a million years to turn on Airplane Mode on

When you get on a plane, enabling Airplane Mode should turn off all the radios on an iPhone or iPad. You say flight mode doesn't work , so is this no longer the case?

"Transpile" is not a real and meaningful word. Can we stop using it please? Btw, if you have relevant citations stating otherwise (Wikipedia isn't it), I am happy to be proven wrong. Thanks!

Here's Java getting compiled to actual x86-64 code (mov $0x2a,%edx; add %edx,%eax). $ cat FortyTwo.java public class FortyTwo { public static int fortytwo(int x) { return x + 42; } } $ gcj

I just skimmed through this. Page 3 says Rule 0.1.2.1 C is a compiled programming language. I never understood the phrase compiled language in the context of C and also in general. C interpreters exist. I happen to have an official c

I wish I could share your optimism :/ Nothing stops makers of RISC-V SoCs from adding their own Intel ME equivalents. Also, the CPU is just a small part of a computer, so "RISC-V" doesn't automatically translate to &qu

There is absolutely no need to even involve chroots or anything that needs special privilege just to run a compiler. Typically, a compiler will just read and write files. This is how it ought to work. 1. Download gcc-8.x.y.tar.xz 2.

IMHO Docker is overkill for trying out a new version of gcc. Multiple versions of gcc can exist in separate directories just fine.
