Maybe potential burglars waiting for people to leave home for vacation / longer visits away from home.

Never could do that.... I do try to take at least a week of mostly-offline vacation a year (ski-trip), but laptop and phone are always close, as my (self-employed) company offers 24//7 sysadmin services / on-call service. And

Same location as where they bought it from.... stored in bankvaults, just earmarked to new owners. The actual gold hardly ever moves physically.

I have been running Courier (for imap) for years, quite happy with it. I usually run it together with postfix for SMTP. and use virtual accounts with courier's authdaemon. Funny to see this on the frontpage for the first time

Just a matter of getting a TTP / Intermediary to hold the domain for you in the EU, same as for the local presence requirements in for example .no(rway) and many other TLD's. It's just another $10-20/year and fixes your

There's also a 3 slot wide tv/media cupboard, which I recently found out is 3x 19" ... I did have to take of the rack-ears of my switch, since that was just 1-2 mm too wide.

Nope... sudo is just this sudo in 99.99% of the cases. There are some alternatives, such as *bsd's doas, and others, but all but doas and su are so non-popular and outdated that I would not recommend using them, as they probably have w

The $50 safes are not fire-rated... and hardly break-in rated. For fire-safety you need something big, and mostly heavy, which will be costly (shipping/moving it alone)

Yup.... shell (via subsidiary newmotion.com) just changed their pricing model in the Netherlands. From variable pricing per charging point (most cheaper than 35ct), they now have a fixed 35ct /kwh overall. In practice it means my charg
