Yeah... so you already have physical access... then there are 10+ other ways to bypass this authentication. - Get the disks from the machine - Interrupt grub (if it doesn't have a password) - Boot from USB or ISO - etc...

Various stores in the Netherlands are currently using EPaper like screens as price-tags. Examples are Mediamarkt/Saturn and Makro/Metro. Nice way to automatically update pricing and have up-to-date pricetags.

Shame that these elemental security issues were present in the first case, and that StartCom went live with such an 'untested' and 'unaudited' product without doing a public-beta like Lets-Encrypt did (with non-trusted-b

It would be easy enough to just prepend something random to the bare email's anyway, or to replace the random bit with every e-mail sent. So you can still spam mailhero users.

I use passwordstore.org's pass... which just syncs all the passwords via git (and they are encrypted with gpg). So I have redundancy/backup/versioning and the rest is just seperate (gpg'd) textfiles.

Given that they would like to keep copyrights on the contributions of third-parties, I doubt many outsiders will contribute. Shame though...

No docker in my shop... though we do manage almost everything with Ansible. All our apps are java-VM based, so a few playbooks to install Linux and OpenJDK and a few startup scripts is about all we need.

Very low on detail, no analysis what caused this. I've never had issues with ram upgrades. Ram either works fine, or it reports errors in memtest (or reports errors under high load). Chance of ram issues causing other hardware failure.

Mostly advertising for hostpoint ... you can hardly call something FreeSSL, if you are paying quite an amount just for the domain-name. SSL certificates can be had for ~$9, so this is just included in the domain-price.
