Cmd+Tab skills! But mainly, its a matter of only ever doing one thing at a time and optimizing for that in lots of little ways. This "rule" is especially useful now that I'm coding primarily through agents. Secret weapon numb

This was my secret weapon for years. My coworkers could never understand my focus and productivity and were always surprised when I said that it was due to working from a tiny laptop screen, and no more.

To appear as a strongman in the eyes of those in power, those who are clearly incapable of introspection. And by such moves he himself gains power.

His statements about this were purely politics, and nothing more. He himself does not believe this. It's political revisionism.

Why must everyone preprocess their blog posts with ChatGPT? It is such a disservice to ones ideas.

I'm extremely cautious about complexity, yet have adopted a claude-based dev flow. It comes down to watching and guiding it, and not letting it run autonomously. At a certain point your codebase will tip over into the patterns you'

Happy to see a new CSS-in-JS lib. All of this madness about runtime performance costs does not apply to 99.9% of the population. But good abstractions do. And then there's latency, and machines are getting faster, and browsers getting

Biome missed the bus by not getting mixed language formatting in soon enough. Oxfmt got it, and then won.

Appreciate this take. It makes a lot of sense and can see this happening all over right now.

The statement makes sense with software that has users, and scales past a certain size. Claude is the map, not the territory.

The only way to learn real software engineering is on the job. It is not theory but practice. Assume you know nothing, and humble yourself to learn. It will take many years!

Textual is A++. Feels a bit less snappy than Ink, but it makes up in all things with its immense feature-set. Seriously fun building apps of all kinds with this lib.

It's less about praising your children, vs being honest with them! Don't give them false praise, and they'll be fine.

The only requirement is curiosity. There's no "do this" with these tools. You have to learn them through constant experimentation.

The docs situation continues to be hilarious and bad, for the gem they have created. It's the unfortunate situation where those who know, know, and those who do not, blasphemy the whole thing based on misunderstanding. Super unfortunat

Exactly! Once its working, it can be very healthy. And especially on the client. For a very, very, very long time. We started using GraphQL at the very beginning, back in 2015, and the way it has scaled over time -- across backend and front
