Thanks, I'm quite aware of org-mode. All my emacs config is in it, I have 1000s of LOC configuring /just/ org, I use it my computers and on my phones for any kind of information management, and I absolutely love it. I think i

Yes, I'm aware of EIN. To start, it's been abandoned by it's author/maintainer as of April 2024 IIRC. Further, I do not need a kernel to execute emacs code - I have one and it's called emacs. The point regarding exe

I mentioned vim as well and generally proposed something that would be editor agnostic. Shoo! back to your cave.

Hello and thank you for making this! Can I sway you to take this into a ... certain direction? From my POV any browser based editor will be inferior to emacs (and to lesser extent vim) simply because it won't run my elisp code. While a

You raise some good points regarding benefits of integration in AP. I mentioned some classic technologies that could be packaged well together to form something cohesive, you claim this is it. Ok, i concede - i think i would be interested i

I understand your claim though dont agree on several counts - 1. To start, if decentralization does not "solve the problem" then what do all AP platforms bring to the table? There was already a decentralized facebook before mastod

This was not claimed. All that was stated is that its a new thing we know very little about, links to autoimmune disease have no immediate obvious connection, and to say anything more would require an investigation. What more can you expect

decentralization is not some magical binary property. Real world systems can be more, or less, decentralized. To start with, yes banking giants exists but everyone finds this undesirable to a certain extent and regulators would object if su

I understand this, but you seem to have ignored my point in that it is trivially easy to make something similar for email and yet no one did, and that it is unclear what’s to stop the same situation from happening again when 90% of users ha

I never ran my AP server but i did run my own mail in my late teens/early twenties. I don't recall it being particularly difficult, compared to eg setting a webserver. Just install some software from your distro PM and go through

If siblings are to be believed, there is nothing we can do about it aside from being very careful not to release the hydrogen into the atmosphere (at which point it will “burn” whether we want to or not)

Aside from my justified negative opinions about caldigit, i was referring to docks that offer 3+ (simultaneous) screen outputs (eg not one with 2 hdmi+2dp that can use either set but not all 4 together). That requires DP.

No, they don’t - they don’t have the hardware, yet. But they do parrot sensory output to eg muscles that induce the expected video sensory inputs in response, in a way that mimics the video input of “other people doing things”.
