I would not classify newlines as invisible characters. Except maybe the last newline in the file. Invisible characters are those that you can't tell if they're present or not. Assuming there are visible characters following, a new

This really reminds me of a similar attempt for Go, called iGo [1]. There are a lot more cases to handle for C++. [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7444459

One of my favorite things that Atom does better than ST3 out of box is its git integration, especially in the tree view [1]. Adding sidebar icons is exciting because it paves the way to similar functionality (either out of box, or via plugi

> Assembly is faster, Go isn't. Ok, let's use assembly then. That's pretty flawed logic. It can be used to dismiss any valid statement. "B is better than A at property C." "Z is better than B at property C;

I agree, I think we need better tools for exploring code. [1] I'm currently envisioning (and trying to build) something where the types/func definitions are hyperlinks, and they jump to definition in an overlaying window similar t

I've been using WebIRC for a while now, and I have to admit the convenience it offers is well worth the small cost to get it setup (my $35 a year vps wasn't doing much). It's simple and does what you expect.

They are not feature equivalent, so it's hard to compare directly. That said, excluding code reuse, to me Go feels like 75%-100% of verbosity of C++ without header files. Also, I don't agree with your statement. If it were true, i
