What's that obligatory talk link where he describes that everything will be compiled to JavaScript and run in the browser over the next 50 years?

I haven't used Appdash in any of my projects yet, but I have seen it used and it is neat. I'm curious how it compares against other similar solutions, can you describe that a little? Is there anything else that's similar? Wha

Did you port from Go to Nim by hand, or was it automated in any way? I thought that Go would be the last language I'd write by hand. Previously I wrote C++, which was a dead end in that I could never use tools to parse it and translate

This article from 2014 [0] suggested Google Domains [1] may offer free SSL certificates. As far as I can see, that's not the case at this time. Does anyone have any information on this? How likely is it that this feature will come in t

Absolutely, that's a fair request. Someone has already opened an issue about it at https://github.com/shurcooL/go/issues/19 , and I'm planning to take care of it. Edit: Oh, I guess that was you.

I love the in-browser demo of this Go program via GopherJS. So easy to try and become familiar. Well done!

Assuming modern battery charging technology and Li-* batteries, no, they would not last less than otherwise. See https://www.apple.com/batteries/why-lithium-ion/ for example.

Wow, this is so incredibly cool. As a big fan of OnLive, I saw a lot of potential in the approach being used for making old school classic games available remotely, without you having to manage to keep them around locally. It's really

I guess Sony is interested in tech, not in keeping OnLive's (few) users happy. It wouldn't work for most games anyway (like ones that are not available on Steam or PSN), and be too much effort, so I'm not too surprised.

OnLive had some of the best tech for cloud gaming that I've experienced, but it seems like they could not get it to take off (I'd say due to very limited game selection, nothing new coming). Sony is clearly going to use the tech t

Why is it www.google.com and not google.com.www? And if www.google.com is okay, what's wrong with www.google/stuff. Left to right order.

Its primary goal is to follow the Go spec correctly, including simulating overflow/underflow on int64 type. Implementing that in JavaScript will have overhead. So if you don't care about that, you can use int type instead, it will

Most recent major GopherJS news: - 29 days ago, the support for blocking calls became default, without needing to mark with `//gopherjs:blocking`. This was the last "not-really-Go" thing you needed to do previously. [0]

You can use Go and compile it to JavaScript. I've been doing that the last year. I gave a talk about it recently if you want to see. https://www.hakkalabs.co/articles/getting-started-gopherjs
