You can go ahead and send that open letter, but why not just fork it and go ahead and add the things you want until he accepts it? Adding contributions to the code and then telling him, "Hey, I added a bunch of things, fixed a bunch of bugs

So less on vague questions that need some thought and more on concrete details that can be easily checked/fixed. Yeah, the questions on unbounce are a bit too wordy.

And that's much of how API hackathons work. You have all these really fleshed out LEGO blocks. You just need people to come up with interesting ideas. So you give the people API access. And see what they come up with in 24 hours. And a lot

But what if I want non-rectangular images! I kid, this is useful stuff for prototyping.

Heh, I have visited friends in college who spend their entire time "talking" to each other while being distracted by Twitter, surfing the web, playing video games, and other activities. It's a bizarre experience and for me, it didn't result

isn't 2.55 Megabits/s for Google Fiber a bit low? I imagine Netflix throttles the bandwidth. After all, there's no point downloading the whole movie if a person decides to switch to something else after 10 minutes. If throttling is happenin

That's a fun comparison. That's discrimination right there, innit? Artists and authors aren't going after the library for copyright concerns the same way they go after torrent sites. Does the library have some type of licensing agreement wi

There is no need for streaming like OnLive. On x86 platforms, I don't see why Steam couldn't emulate the Windows version, much like what Wine or Cedega does. This is one way that they could support cross-platform gaming on OS X, Windows, an

Is that because of the city you live in? I'm not familiar with Ingress, but can't players also create portals?

Amusing that NASA has a page to discuss this. Is addressing this even a concern for them? What is it for? Press coverage? Just to stifle any argument of the end of the world? But amusing, nonetheless.

Training programmers in 10 short weeks? Albeit these have experience with programming via codecademy, but 10 weeks? That is a fantastic turnaround and sounds a bit too marvelous. How does it work? This is just the first batch, but does it w

If I was trying to gloss a reason for the OP posting on HN, I would think he asked here was because of HN's particular focus on startups and 'disrupting' traditional industries. Seems to fit for creating a cable company. That being said, th

It is still possible to work around those things, but smartphones are just more convenient for most people. It would be awesome if phones transformed into computers, sort of what Ubuntu has planned out. http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/androi

Yes, so much easier to use your own machine for development just because you have control over everything. I'm sure some people need specialized machines, but for most... sticking to one laptop or ssh server really simplifies everything.

And you upgrade the OS on your Macbook regularly? Isn't there a lot of software that drops support for older releases (10.5, 10.6)? Not to mention newer Apple-tested software running slowly on older Macs? I remember Safari and Mail.app just

Quite in-depth for string localization on Android. What other problems did you have to solve when developing for Android? Getting code to compile and run consistently on 2.2+?

Nexus One has just completely dropped support. Android's saving grace is that there is a community of programmers willing to support devices that are otherwise locked/unsupported. A lot like *nix in the early days. It's all grassroots from

What if it was so much cheaper and not subsidized, like how desktops are? It could have been a different type of market, and maybe better for electronics altogether. That's how desktops were, anyhow. And the internet. Phones are getting to

Decentralized repositories aren't completely better, either. It's all about hybrids, being able to switch between the better and worse of different designs. Steam is a centralized game store, but it doesn't necessarily lock you in. You can

This is just far too cool. And creative too. I haven't really thought of using SSH for games. It would be cool if X11/windowing/sharing code was just as simple as SSH. Then we could trivially do networked video games where someone hosts. Th
