Good luck at your new job but it sounds like you are in a honeymoon period. It is good that you are happier but a fresh startup with longer hours does not sound good at all, especially if you have 2 kids and want to buy a house (ie you need

LinkedIn is fine, it is the people using it is the problem. Recruiters spamming irrelevant people etc. And they would just move to not-linkedin and create the same issues

Since new[] does not actually return an array (returns a pointer to 1-past-the last element in "" string/array) and later "this" pointer is calculated using an arithmetic operation that goes out of bounds (for eleme

If you are OK with roll again then you can just have a cylinder-ish shaped dice where numbers are on the sides (so it is N-edge polygon instead of a circle) and top and bottom is marked as "roll again" even better, you can round t

It is (probably) taken seriously, I am sure they were pushing things to limit to render just one more car or have a one more AI etc. My assumption the loading times just somehow slipped off and no one thought it was a solvable problem or it

There are people that are paid to play the game (testers) or collect feedback from the people that plays it. Hard to imagine that they were oblivious to the problem

At some point the game mostly becomes creating job orders (instead of creating orders manually) and trying to figure out bottlenecks in your fort. It might be lack of materials, lack of assigned dwarf (or all of them busy or something) etc

Militia is just... bad. Everything about it. Managing squads, equipment etc is just overly complicated and full of bugs. And no such thing as balance. Just seal yourself off and/or use dfhack to kill enemies.

Serious digging was needed because he does not have the source. Any devs could easily profile the game during loading and that sscanf or strlen would be at top Maybe they saw sscanf and assumed it is normal that it takes time, but more like

"good performance" is a relative term. You may consider Haskell or Scala having "good performance" but for others having garbage collection itself is a big no. So you are either left with Rust's approach where you l

even if his coding standard allows GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE, I still don't see the point. One (original) GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE is a global constant and his limits.GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE is just a member. You will still need a "conversion&qu
