Sure. On one project we built a custom Linux distribution by mounting a file as a loop back file system and copying the right files in. We installed a grub boot sector at the start. Then we copied it as a file into a simple live usb. The li

I wouldn't judge that too quickly - it could well be about hiding money stolen from another country: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/london-proper...

Spoiler - it's a secret because someone is evading tax, hiding mafia money, or money they gained through corruption. It's a shame but unsurprising the investigator is a journalist rather than the British police or revenue service

I find this idea that there are lots of fake programmers kind of nuts. Presumably, when you do a resume sift, you look for people with either a qualification or work experience. Either they somehow faked it through those, or your test is ba

I wonder if polygraphs are there as a cover for refusing clearance due to secret evidence. If you know bob is a Soviet spy because your agents in Russia say so, you don't want to blow their cover, so you need an arbitrary reason to ref

Initially I assumed that this was just an accelerometer, but actually the device detects hand motions by detecting electric impulses from the skin. That's really exciting - even if it can only detect fairly gross gestures, it opens up

Ah that's a really interesting part of the picture - Google clearly doesn't pay adequate tax on the sales it makes in the EU. Google are pretty obviously not paying tax like a normal company. To put that more explicitly, they are

China has 66M google users, while France has 44M. However, if we split HK google users from mainland Google users, it would be pretty clear that Google is toast in China just like Excite in the US. There are a lot of people in China. Only

There are viruses for both. Keep your computer behind a NAT firewall, don't open dodgy looking emails, pirate software, or go on dodgy websites and you can be fairly confident. The best security model on a common operating system is pr
