Vlad, thanks for building Webflow! My team and I love it. Building a company these days requires a website that looks and works great - but as a founder I'd rather spend my time working on the product and talking to customers. Webflow

THIS. 20m is a drop in the ocean (sorry!) compared to what other projects get funded with. To me, climate change is like the white walker threat in the Game of Thrones series. Everyone's squabbling over petty politics while the real th

The key like you said is spending those 10k hours on the right thing. A mixed strategy makes sense, but I’d recommend starting with some breadth - experiment and then go for depth. How can you know where to spend your time if you don’t know

I would add sentry.io error logging to this list. Very happy customer. We use them heavily and it’s been really helpful identifying production issues that miss testing.

This reminds me of an undergrad assignment I had when taking real time C programming. We were each given a programmable lift controller that looked very lego-ish. We were meant to write a multi threaded C program to react in real time to bu

My take on GCP is that they have focus areas like Kubernetes, Spanner, Firebase that they do very well on, but for more generic offerings not so much. For instance, our app uses Postgres 10's native partitioning features, it's REA

Singapore does this really well. A hospital is mandated by law to provide you financial counselling - it’s like a predictive charge sheet of what you will be charged when you’re admitted to the hospital. It’s unreasonable to expect 100% acc

would love to but this is a no-go at this point, since I’m on RDS. I think it’s great you’re solving this though - I currently use a cron job to create new partitions.

I’m already loving PG10’s native partitioning support. PG11 closes the loop on a few convenience features like being able to set foreign and primary keys at the master table level. With PG10 I can’t use ON CONFLICT clauses - looking forward

One major differentiator for Azure is its 1st class support for Windows / Microsoft centric tech. Besides that, I find it hard to see why someone would pick them over AWS. So if consumer Windows becomes irrelevant, so does Windows serv

Or maybe you can do ML with SQL.... Postgres can do basic linear regression, I did this a couple of times for an analysis and found it pretty handy.

Surprised they didn’t opt for Typescript. Then again, it’s a tweet - looking forward to a longer blog post with technical details when they’re willing to talk about it more.

Most of the discussion (rightly so) focused on DB optimization. The decision to build the API in Go was barely mentioned. I’m curious if you evaluated any other frameworks / languages or was Go just an automatic choice?
