Showing my age here, heh: 1. Early Ruby on Rails -- Now that MVC/ORM packges are the norm, it's hard to describe how revolutionary the original '15 minute blog' video was. It really felt like a quantum leap for CRUD apps

I didn't mean to criticize Duolingo for not being a silver bullet, but they definitely do market it as one. They literally say right on their homepage that using it for 34 hours is equal to a semester of university language class. When

Duolingo is a lousy way to learn a language, but it's great for vocabulary practice. It also teaches typing on a phone keyboard, which is a great skill for languages that use a non-latin charset. Having these handy might help with some

Nowadays they have a number of normal weight models. My 2019 darter weights 1.6kg, and it looks like the new lemur/galago are 1.1 and 1.41kg respectively. Not ultralight but fairly average.

“Stability, not guidance” — its sort of like “tax avoidance, not tax evasion”. I’m not sure what the defined red lines are in the US, but most people building rockets big enough for the feds to worry about are following the model rocketry c

I'm one of these people, it's super frustrating. Because of where our building sits we can't even do fixed wireless, so despite living in a major US city my options are pay comcast or get 1mbps (!) dsl.
