Hmm. I haven't looked at RhodeCode. For me Kiln has provided a good UI and workflow and just worked ever since their v2.4 or so. I'm not sure there is a particular best feature, but roughly these features are what come to mind: -

That was a busy meeting and the developer mailing list is very busy. It's great to see continued investment from so many interested parties. Judging by the notes in the wiki [1], however, the purveyors of my preferred server, Kiln, are

Agreed. And yet it is encouraging to see the continued investment and upstream engagement by Facebook and Mozilla. (I knew Facebook and Mozilla were heavily invested; I'm not sure what Google's involvement is since code.google.com

Xamarin.Forms is looking pretty good but still mobile (and Windows 10 UWP) at the moment. Will they extend to OS X and Linux?

I'm missing the initial assumption. What is the connection between Docker and traction for Go and OCaml? People are using the latter in order to simply avoid containers?

I always thought those language/framework/library cheat sheets were for newbies only, but I'm beginning to see that's not entirely the case.

Yep, the docs are very good, and I've been enjoying catching up on the blog archives, too, for interesting project background and philosophy.

Hence Pixie [1], which builds a Clojure-inspired language on a JIT VM. I'm not sure what the status is, but it appears to be active. [1]: https://github.com/pixie-lang/pixie

I don't see how that could work in tup or any deterministic build system. If there is any possible way to parameterize explicit filenames unique to the stages, that will map better to tup. It requires you to be explicit about every fil

Good point. Email is great when you are part of the conversation and it's in your history. Maybe not so much for digging around later on otherwise.

Gotta love how easy the "how" part is. Just a 226MB installer and a tiny README, script, and config packaged by the author. I was wishing for something like this for FreeBSD while reading the desktop tutorial [1] last week (2.6GB

I saw this here a few months ago, with interest. Indeed, there is quite a list of language bindings growing there. It seems this could pair nicely with .NET Core and appeal to C# developers who may prefer to transition to a cross-platform U

Cool story about your mother. I'm interested to hear more about the kind of company that supported that transition, how long it took, and what it was like for her.

No love for equal weight? RSP has some interesting performance characteristics. There is the Wilshire 5000 Equal Weight Index, but, alas, no fund tracks it.

I'm surprised no one says, "Just use waf." It does all those things. It's fast. It's cross-platform. The language is Python. It's a bit steep to learn and maybe doesn't have the most mature built-in recipe
