Repeaters are the _worst_ choice of all. Repeaters are put where your signal is already low (not right to the router's antenna). This means they will just repeat signal that is already low, and the further you get from repeater itself

Similar to Ubnt, you might want to check out https://mikrotik.com/ At the same time if you want something more customer friendly simply search for "mesh system" (all major brands have one).

In modern cars the airbag will not fire if the seatbelt is not used. This is the reason why we even have seat belt detectors that make this annoying noise - not just to annoy you but also to figure out whether its safe to fire airbag or not

It's not about how easy it is to put your hand on wheel so that it can detect a bit of force (you can use bottle of water to do that). The difficult part is to stay focused when doing that. If you spent 30 minutes driving to work on a

I also see my 6 core MBP under 100% load at times, and I work with more "standard" stack of ruby/python and swift. But from what I read (on barefeats benchmarks, no less) clearly shows that Xeon CPU is inferior for those use

There are edge cases for sure, never said there aren't any. If you need to run several VMs, each with a few cores and few gigs of memory, and all of those under heavy load at the same time, then apple "Pro" machine might be j

What about Mac Mini + minimum viable ssd (256-512GB) + eGPU + decent SSD like Samsung T5 (budget) or X5 (high end) ? After today's announcements this is what I am looking at. The only problem I see is that current eGPUs do not support

All of the Xeons in Mac Pro say 4.4Ghz turbo from what I saw at apple.com. So the 2019 iMac i9 @ 5Ghz on 4 cores will beat the crap out of them for software development purposes, and from the benchmarks so far it seems there is very little

Well, I did not even hope it would cost $3k. The moment they released iMac Pro at $5k it was obvious it will cost at least that much. I hoped for the same price point since it comes without a monitor.

That's silly to be honest. I am a developer myself and I can tell you Mac Pro or iMac Pro is a waste of money in every way imaginable. Look up barefeats benchmarks. Unless you have very specialised needs (like video editing) there is v

Is it not the point? If stripe allowed you to do that - insure only dangerous transactions - then it could not be 0.4% but rather a few %. The entire point behind insurance is to have enough volume so that the small % when they need to pay

As they said, it only works where Apple Pay works already. And already Apple Pay works almost everywhere there is contactless terminal. Some people say you will be able to see the card number in your Wallet app, but somehow I doubt it. Ther

Probably not. This is exactly how Apple Pay works - every physical card you add to apple pay is added to your phone/watch/laptop with a different number. If you delete card from your phone and add it again, its has yet another num

The problem with Samsung ear buds is the same as with other samsung premium products: they are really nice, but at the end they are only slightly cheaper than apple ($150 vs $180) whereas they are worse in a few categories - battery life, m
