I agree with you here. I expected my comment to get many more downvotes from the anti-everything-except-lisp-go-ruby-other-hipster-languages HN parade.

Right, but it doesn't need to be pointed out by 100 people every single time the language comes up in conversation. PHP has its place. HNs typical "PHP LOL OMFG WTF SHIT" reaction is childish.

Wow that's a nice setup. I'm already using clink (my brother is the author), but I'm checking the rest out now. Thanks!

Try clink[1]. It brings some powerful aspects of Bash to cmd.exe. 1: https://code.google.com/p/clink/

I realise you haven't directly stated that you support these actions, I would like to make the following comment since it seams to me that you think school shootings and terrorist attacks are valid reasons for this behaviour. I believe whil

I'm using Nightly with AdBlock and vimperator. I see around 600MB RAM usage with 2 or 3 windows and 5-6 tabs. What extensions do you have? I've also disable Java, Shockwave, etc. Try Nightly? I've never had a single stability issue.

They're making a push to work on the native tools now. The native tools in Nightly are actually pretty usable now, though still not as advanced as Chrome. It'll come, I'm sure. :)

They're already fixing memory leaks. In fact, Firefox now uses less memory than Chrome. Let me guess, you're another person who hasn't used Firefox in a few years hasn't bothered to check out the latest versions at all? :)

The author is trying to convey a point that is clearly way above your head. Stop being 'offended' by stuff that doesn't fucking matter.

And as usual, any HN post that contains profanity is immediately overrun by 'offended' fuckheads that simply don't understand the joke and are offended by fuck all. Stephen Fry says it best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_osQvkeNRM

You're one of the luck few of us that actually understand the joke. There is a very large portion of people in this thread that do not understand the swearing and are simply 'offended' by fuck all and are throwing their toys out of the pram

First-order Logic is a fascinatingly deep and interesting topic. The level of abstraction is a requirement - it makes it far easier to work with, prove, and understand. Source: 4th year mathematics student.

Notice that I never disagreed with anyone on this. I also think that file extensions are broken. My issue is that you (and a few others) lay the blame solely on Redmond. The issue of file extensions goes far beyond Windows. Every operating

Oh shut up. The issue here is much more than just "Windows suckzzz!!!!". Get off your high horse and stop being an OS elitist, it's pathetic. edit: I now understand this is a reference to a comic that was published when I was five years old

Hi there! It seems as if today you've decided to post comments without reading the article correctly. I would suggest you do not do this today, especially in this thread.
