Approach of using all kind of non upstream or unfinished stuff to sell it as better performance is actually counter productive. It makes new users who are unaware of it, being unable to report bugs upstream which basically creates an isolat

As usual, those who spent too much money on it use it as a way to show their investors they didn't waste all that money and to get them to spend even more. That's why it's so messed up.

I would stay away from anything that's using Nvidia, especially a laptop.

Better something simple than nothing. I'm glad they didn't use it as an excuse not to do it at all. I've seen this happening with other projects.

There is an answer in the comment to the original bug: > there is no migration path supported at this point: only new profiles are expected to use the new setup. Migrating manually is at your own risk, make a backup before. I'll t

Chromium is still polluting stuff with $HOME/.pki because it's not using libnss correctly and developers don't care to fix it, despite a longstanding open bug report. Which results in everything that embeds Chromium (like QtW

Not cache files if I understand correctly, they are using $HOME/.cache/mozilla for a long time already. You can exclude $HOME/.config/mozilla from your back up all the same anyway if that causes you some issues. I person

Nope, they just moved $HOME/.mozilla to $HOME/.config/mozilla it seems. Which already is a huge improvement and better than bikeshedding for decades that they also should use $HOME/.local/share/mozilla in addit

Android games is what was thinking about as a benefit from this, yeah. But there can be also some amount of Windows ARM games. It's not such an immediately cool thing as radv or zink, but it's still useful.

Seems more like a symptom of Intel's general issues, not of this being useless. But who knows. I agree though that Qualcomm is causing a lot of anti-competitive problems.

Not every scenario for such chips is a smartphone, but as you said, AMD could as well develop their own modem. I would prefer them to start with WiFi though, since Intel made their latest chips impossible to use with AMD CPUs.

Can anyone explain what prevents AMD from making x86_64 chips competitive with ARM on the lower end like in mobile phones? I doubt it's about ISA.
