Consider how long it takes to compile the Linux kernel for example. So one minute is very good.

> A lot of that verbiage is absurd exaggerations They express the intent behind DRM very precisely. I don't see anything about it being an exaggeration. DRM proponents will try to control as much as they can grab. There is no excu

I try to. Games are honestly a decent case for this. Same goes for music, books etc. It's video that's really the worst scenario.

I simply won't buy it. Let them release the game on GOG or other DRM-free store, then I'll buy it if I like it.

Makes perfect sense to me. But I guess those in denial or DRM proponents will prefer to ignore the obvious. The abusive and overreaching nature of DRM was expressed pretty clearly by those who actually abused it: https://en.wikip

Policing by some corpo isn't better than policing by the government. The basis of why overreaching policing is bad doesn't depend on it. Compare DRM to someone installing surveillance in your house to preemptively "stop any p

It's the truth standpoint. DRM is an overreaching preemptive policing, i.e. by its mere definition it's always aimed against the user, therefore it's always an anti-feature. Things like fourth amendment exist for a simple rea

Of course. DRM can never improve user experience, it's an anti-user feature by definition.

I agree. Bug trackers should be easy to use. I wish Debian and ffmpeg would have better bug trackers.

Should ffplay support it if ffmpeg added support for it in general?

That's nice. I had hard time getting low latency with SRT, but managed to get within the range of roughly slightly less than one second using gpu-screen-recorder on one end and ffplay on the other end with flags for low latency.

Does it allow more realtime streaming than SRT on LAN? I'm still waiting for ffmpeg CLI tool to merge pipewire + xdg-desktop-portal support. You still can't record a screen or window on Wayland with it.

You can run multiple OSes simultaneously on Linux itself - Linux can run VMs just fine. I.e. Linux guests on Linux host and so on. Take a look for example at virt-manager (libvirt / qemu + kvm). And WSL is a limited VM using HyperV any
