Not a biologist, but OTOH they might have had a very different body structure that doesn't conserve well, e.g. like molluscs. Or maybe we _did__ find their remains and just have no idea they were part of an intelligent civilization. I

TL;DR: if you're on the fence, go read the book. It's good and short to boot. I have to admit I've only seen part of a playthrough of /The Invicible/, but haven't played the game myself. Still, as a general rul

Curious as to why you feel the retro look doesn't fit? In my head canon, Lem's worlds look just about like that, because they were written in the era. It might be because I tend to glance over details in descriptions, though...

Are they really actually claiming to have designed such a rocket engine? Thanks for the Sprint info BTW, I had never heard of that.

That's an interesting take, but I'm not sold. It sounds a bit like claiming to be a family of firefighters because your grandpa participated in a drill once, passing along empty buckets.

I use my knuckle for that, because I'm much less likely to touch my food or face with it later. Same goes for e.g. elevator buttons.

What I find so chilling and reminding about this history is that to this very day, the spanish peninsula remains largely deforested because of that fleet they had 500 years ago.
