It's a slang term for MDMA. Clearly the poster means that you don't have to interact with anyone when you're on ecstasy.

I wouldn't get this worked up about a simple term that keeps things understandable for a layperson, lest your head might explode once you see how people are anthropomorphizing some AI "companion" bots.

Looks like it's playing at half the framerate (can confirm this in the preview player). At full 24fps it'd probably be too seizure-inducing.

Seriously... This is MSCHF, they basically do social experiments. Seeing how people use/abuse this is part of the plan.

Shocking how terrible the wording is in these, even for a beta release. 'Alert "GeoServices"' isn't even a sentence. Feels like something implemented at the last second.

We know, but "<thing> for <platform>" usually implies that <thing> runs on <platform>, not the other way around.

At this point I'll be shocked if they ever start inviting anyone that signed up for their waitlist over half a year ago.

FWIW that intro cube is not implemented with their engine. It's just 4 video embeds animated with plain CSS 3D transforms, so performance should depend entirely on browser optimization on your device.

Honestly, kudos to the team for shipping this. It sounds like a ton of work and research has gone into it and it is absurd that people complain about obvious usability improvements like an easily-accessible table of contents or line lengths

Beyond that one line in the intro text that is vaguely riffing on (the other) OpenAI, I really don't see what about this could be seen as satire? It's just another AI image generator with the one unique feature being trademark inf

A trash can is slightly less essential to a vessel's operation than its control surface.

The difference is that the games you mentioned were made by developers that have been Sony in-house or second-party studios for literal decades, and weren't hoovered up from the open market like Microsoft is trying to do now because of

I realize you specified "built-in" but just in case you weren't aware, plugins exist to download ("Export Original Images") and compress ("Downsize") images in Figma, and both work well.

You know, it's not a requirement to be contrarian about everything . Encouraging people to use stronger passwords (and password managers to handle them) is pretty much universally a good thing.

It's an award for sites that "embody the idea of a small, playful and heartfelt web", not for who can code the most minimal and efficient HTML. I don't know what these commenters are trying to demonstrate other than that

I wonder if there'll ever be a webpage submission on HN where 50% of the comments aren't just complaining about the presentation or the way it's been implemented.

A similar scourge of mine is Wikipedia contributors helpfully "tracing" company logos so they can be uploaded as vector graphics (great in theory!) but introducing all kinds of mistakes in the process or using the wrong fonts... a

For context, most of these games use(d) a Flash derivative called Scaleform for their GUIs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaleform_GFx — it's discontinued now but was indeed hugely popular. A lot of games today u
