Agricultural production areas and crops will probably have to shift to follow climate and rainfall. I don't want to go all doom and gloom but there is going to be a substantial economic (and perhaps human) cost for future generations.

The first thing I did when I got my ASUS UX303UA was re-partition and install Arch Linux. Works flawlessly and I avoid issues with this sort of half baked bloatware. I haven't done any BIOS updates because ASUS doesn't publish det

That may not be true. UVA is not ionising and possibly increases risk of skin cancer. Non-ionizing radiation can cause chemical reactions (photochemical, heating, burns) that damage cells and might lead to increased cancer risk. I really d

I like systemd. It solves a lot of problems and does some cool things. But it always worries me when they go around breaking stuff. Too often the response is something like tmux has been doing it wrong - use the new systemd-tmux service ins

Not really. Ideally you go into these things with your eyes open. I can see our house going from five heavily used Apple devices to zero in the next couple of years. If the barriers were as bad as people pretend we could not do that. It pro

Minivans are anti-teslas. They are tippy and have almost no crumple zone. In a front impact the engine block ends up where your legs were. If you have the money for a Tesla then you would be crazy not to put your kids in one. Ideally you wo

There was a lot of concern over patents and control but I think the decline of Mono had a lot more to do with Novell going bust and developers disappearing. Vala was an attempt to provide enough c# like features to provide an alternative an
