Interesting. I’m currently trying to lower blood pressure naturally and have found typical “in through nose, out through mouth” breathing exercises will drop mine a few points. Also, hand weights- 2 reps of 10 in each arm- will drop signif

This is close to something I'd use/need. I built something similar for my wife and I to do weekly schedules for our kids. It has chores, school work, daily routine stuff, etc. It currently uses Trello and some custom API code.

There is https://www.opensilver.net/ Not sure if any is MS contributed. And I’m not sure I can recommend it as a platform. I never quite bought into XAML over HTML/CSS/JS. I’ve done both, and just would rather

Came here to make this point. Also, killing off products is not unhealthy. I for one am glad that eventually someone had the sense to kill off Bob. Sometimes- like for devs invested in Silverlight- it can be frustrating, but no reason to

I wasn’t aware of the constraint that travel within wormhole must take longer than travel between the mouths. Given that, is there any real practical use for them? In scifi they are usually presented as shortcuts, but this constraint mak

All good guidelines. A corollary to 1) don’t fight the tools, use the right tool is that you have to know lots of tools. Or at least, enough of several tools to know when to pull out which tool. Otherwise, “if all you have is a hammer, a

Can some more mathy person (in laymen terms) explain how a teardrop shape (ie pointy at top, round at bottom) isn’t the same thing? Seems like that would just have one stable and one unstable point, though I’m sure I’m missing something.

Confused by this too. I assumed some Racket:Next was some Russian raquetball something-or-other.

I'm in that group. I've consciously cut out Facebook and Twitter in part because of the toxic echo chambers they've become. HN is about the only place I'll wade in sometimes because the level of discourse seems higher.

Sidebar and sticky examples don’t work on iOS safari on iPhone. I’m pretty sure sticky can be made to work. Sidebar would need a different technique since “:hover” is not a thing there. In general I like the concept of not using js unless

Looking at the 3 cited projects, I don't see anything that precludes Github Pages or similar. At first I thought they were dynamic SaaS services and wondered why he'd run those from his dorm. But as best I can tell they're

A few ideas: have computer vision tool analyze each frame from one or more cameras above the field, look for the drones, and overlay your graphics. You might have a QR Code or similar. Even a simple color badge if it's just a handful

I’ve done a fair amount of geospatial work, and been caught by this sometimes. A standard would be nice, but in general it’s something you catch pretty quickly in development and can fix easily. “Why doesn’t this pin show up in the correct

Then again, if a secret state org hacked the sites, part of the plan would probably be to place stories crediting a rouge individual and discrediting the idea it was a government org. Obviously not proof the story is false either, but like

Similar. I built “out in the county” and first thing I did was get chickens and make a garden. I didn’t plan on a full farm, but had a picture of raising a few chickens and things for food. The chickens all got sick, were very gross, need

It seems like a more accurate comparison would be container images and webassembly. Kubernetes is a orchestrator that tells containers where to run, how many, etc. For WebAssembly to replace Kubernetes, enterprises would need some other o

Should be pointed out you can simulate slower internet speeds in your chrome dev tools. The others- display/ram/cpu may be easier on a craptop, but a VM could also simulate resource constraints.
