I can't help but think about how you can build a state machine in C++ templates that achieve the same result with type safety, no overhead and no risk of running into compilers generated problems.

Agile doesn't mean releasing an application is testing an application. Your users aren't your testers. I'm sorry, when I read this rant I read someone who didn't do his homework in the first place.

I think Jeff's post lacks humility and perspective. Generally you try not to name laws after yourself, but let's say it was some sort of humour. I truly think he should put web programming aside for a while, and realize someone has got to w

Don't forget that games are also bought by teenagers that don't have a lot of money. $ 49 was a lot when I was a teen. The right price changes from one person to another. That's why you segment the market. That's what Valve does. People wil

Being based on something doesn't mean it's like similar. Is C++ like Simula? My statement was probably poorly phrased, but what I meant is that a modern C++ program is nothing like a modern Java program. The approach are radically different

I wholeheartedly agree. Windows 7 is an excellent operating system. People jump to conclusions too quickly. The challenger of Windows Vista is not MacOS X or Linux, it's Windows XP.

Perhaps we are simply a link in evolution between biological life and cybernetic life. Who knows? I still think however that the Super AI singularity is a phantasm. Intelligence is not the key to everything. As fast as ideas can go, putting

Of course robots will take jobs from human beings. Have you ever seen a BMW factory? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vRg64HX5gA Is it a bad thing to have dumb jobs done by machines? I'm always amused when I read "stop making progress, t

Low latency is interesting when you're tweaking the VST in real time and want to see how it affects your recording. With enough CPU power and a good audio card, this is doable even with a complex stack of effects. I guess it could also be i
