Well, having had my third call in the 14th week of being on call I would say about 0.2 times per week on-call.

Currently a bit more than a year at my current workplace. I have on-call every 4 weeks for a week. This weekend was my third call.

Where did you get this from? I just checked my local DNS server and my home devices have never attempted to connect to this domain even though I have quite a few android devices.

I think disk IO makes a lot of difference and I guess (didn't look it up) the Atom might get better IO results out of the eMMC SSD than the Pi4 does.

Yeah but using an Intel Compute stick with the Atom and a Pi 4 both with Ubuntu the Atom is definitely faster in my experience.

Brent Ozar. Don't know if he's a celebrity but people in my workspace sure do know him.

Thanks. I feel this should just be a setting on the settings screen. I use a PiHole DNS service at home which I want to keep using over this.

It's funny how saying you don't like apple gets you downvotes on HN. Imo it's weird technical minded people like on here even think good of apple but that's probably just me.

I have a SE for work but a Xiaomi Mi 9 for personal use. I just can't get used to iOS and the small SE. Cant type a decent message on it and the UI, although easy, just makes me feel I'm missing out on efficiency. Not to mention I

I agree, but I had to find this out the hard way as I was a junior back then just rolling with it. I didn't outsource IT but had to live with it.

This is not helpful for a Dutch person like me (who are usually very direct) when the IT has been outsourced to India. You ask them to do something, they say yes and when time comes it hasn't been done. This got me so annoyed.

I think YNAB's popularity comes from the stand-alone desktop version which was really popular until they went cloud.

It's not competitive at all at performance. Phoronix did a review a few days ago. Am on mobile now but will look for it and edit this post. * https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=rome-pow...

Depends on the content and the amount of clients a mcu could handle at a time. For and arduino using a simple http server (no https) I think you can have up to 5 active connections before it crashes.

I know this isn't really a noteworthy project or anything but the kid is 17. I wish I had this kind of cheap China stuff at 17. I wonder where I would've been by now if I had!

It was a tongue in cheek remark. I'm pretty well off as I at least have decent job in IT. I try and make life better for friends and family by spending my money. I just wonder how it would be to be on the receiving end of it all. Also,

I'm based in the Netherlands. After my post I went searching and found we have a "early phase funding" from the government. https://www.rvo.nl/subsidies-regelingen/vroegefasefinancieri...

Might be a bit late but do you have some more info on these EU funds? I'm just a very technical guy but somewhere on the horizon there will be a point where our proto is matured enough we probably should seek some funding if we want to

Then why make a site? That's like saying you don't want any photos of you to exist but you've been outside for years while people where making photos and now you're telling them to delete those.
