Wow. I've been struggling to teach myself objective-c, never getting beyond the simple tutorials. So I'm happy to try this out. I currently have an MVP in ionic framework and would love to port this over to react. Though I should

I'm late to the game here, but I'll chime in. There is a general consensus here that networking is the fastest path to that first dollar, and I agree. The freelance marketplace is a big reason I created 3cosystem[1] - the biggest

Right, but it seems that meetup and eventbrite are about 90% of the events in any place. So chasing that last 10% is not part of the MVP. That said, I've been thinking on this question. I see two easy ways: 1. a Webform with email veri

Funny -- I'm going the opposite direction. I did a few MVPs last year on Laravel which have since moved to Django or Flask. There is no admin generator I've found that compares to Django. And it is that time savings that is crucia

Looks like my 2015 will be a lot of python -- specifically to build more robust systems with Django, Scrapy, and NLTK. And if I get a new Mac this year I might attempt Swift.

Totally agree with this point. Asking users for too much information up-front will put them off your app before they even get into the first screens. I'm working on a couple of projects where this conversation has come up. After some q

Typography is a big topic, but a good introduction is "Stop Stealing Sheep and Find out How Type works" by Erik Spiekermann [1] It is an especially good read for non-designers, though I've given several copies to interns. [1]

Fortunately there was no app built in Angular -- it was Backbone. We saw it through to the end, and everyone is happy (at least no one was fired). But you don't want to look at my git commit messages. Lots of cursing at callbacks and a

Not sure where to begin, but I'll take a crack at this one... I used to be like you. I was out at every meetup -- flirting with all the new frameworks in town. We would start off hot-n-heavy, staying up late into the night, making big

Good question. I checked reddit's /r/openbsd, but there was not a lot there. But maybe you will find something by searching over there.

I've gone through this as well, but learning Python. I would suggest to give yourself a real-world project, and then execute using the new language. For my project, I wanted to scrape a number of websites for their store location data.

You are probably looking for image similarity tools. I've been playing with the IMGSeek tools [1] for a few months in my spare time. My hobby project is to create a reverse image search engine. [1] - http://www.imgseek.net&#

I'm on the edge of my knowledge here, but your might look at the MQTT protocol [1]. Facebook uses this for Facebook Messenger [2]. MQTT, I believe can solve part of the power issue, as well others. However, I do not know how easy it is
