I was wondering how this integrates with Deno's permission system, which is one of its biggest strengths especially for letting agents run amok on your device. The CLI reference page[0] notes, > The permissions you grant at compile

You can use the favicon cache as storage too, by redirecting users across domains. It's been proposed as a potential fingerprinting risk[0], and if a browser naively reuses the cache for incognito mode, it could be used to track users

Plus, with forks anyone can publish a commit accessible from the main repo, so one could disguise a malicious version of stdx by forking the repo, pushing their charges, then setting the rev: base64 = { git = "https://g

As you alluded to, many Chromium forks (notable exception is Ungoogled) are backed by tech companies. There's already plenty of intentional changes they maintain in their forks, like Privacy Sandbox,[0] so I don't think preserving

Google Meet is definitely not going to perform better outside Chrome since based on recent web APIs proposed by Chrome (e.g. document PIP[0], element capture[1]), the Chrome team has shown they'll change the browser specifically to imp

Is it possible to fix it in a backwards compatible way? Removing lifecycle scripts is at least a semver major change, and would complicate existing projects relying on packages with lifecycle scripts from upgrading.

You probably meant [object Object] :) Since arrays have their own default toString implementation (its own can of worms that is the basis for JSFuck[0]), you'd have to go out of your way with Object.prototype.toString.call to get [obje

In general the language uses `null` if it would otherwise return an object (similar to Java; this is also why null is an object but not really in both languages), while `undefined` is used if it could otherwise return any value. Could the l

You can just use --first-parent to skip past commits in merged branches. Squash merges complicate stacked PRs. But I agree on not rebasing PRs. Another benefit to avoiding force merges is that it's easier for reviewers to compare chang

It doesn't seem like a pleasant, bilateral collaboration since Russian developers do not seem pleased about the Euro-Office initiative.[0] [0]: https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE#%EF%B8%8F-legal-note

It's interesting that it renders Chinese in a TUI. I wonder if that breaks anything that assumes a character is always a column wide.

This is bad advice. You should only use rem for text, e.g. font sizes and paragraph margins. If the user is on a phone and has a larger default font size due to vision difficulties, making padding scale with the font size takes screen real

It's not that it's unreliable, it's just lazy research. Wikipedia, like all encyclopedias, is a tertiary source, but ideally your essay should be a mix of primary and secondary sources, while Wikipedia discourages original re

The changelog design has been like that since last year,[0] which predates today's slop design of small caps and monospace text (probably because they both are based on the same design trend). A year ago, vibe coded websites leaned mor

UTF-8 is not locale independent. You cannot correctly render multilingual UTF-8 text without also specifying its locale, and some transformations like uppercase/lowercase also depend on the locale.

If you're applying a replacer, then you'd supply a reviver when parsing: const json = '{ "a": 9007199254740993 }' JSON.parse(json, (_key, value, context) => /^\d+$/.test(context.source) ?

You can serialize a BigInt by specifying a replacer: const obj = { a: 9007199254740993n } JSON.stringify(obj, (_key, value) => typeof value === 'bigint' ? JSON.rawJSON(value.toString()) : value)

This can be avoided by supplying a reviver: const json = '{ "a": 9007199254740993 }' JSON.parse(json, (_key, value, context) => /^\d+$/.test(context.source) ? BigInt(context.source) : value)

That sounds like a lot of work. If you rebase A on main then B on main, you end up having to resolve A's conflicts on main twice. But if you stick with merge commits, A's conflicts are handled once in the merge from main.

As the article notes, effects (at least as described in the article) are already possible in JavaScript using generators, as long as every calling function is a generator, which I assume the author finds problematic because generators are c
