Models are heavily fine tuned and trained to follow instructions. They are trained to be subservient. I am sure that cuts into their ability to think creatively. The other risk with a lot of creative thinking is risking hallucinations (crea

A more convenient (and dare I say, faster ) tape drive replacement for backups? They do make a good point, it would take 10*24TB drives working in the worst raid configuration to even come close to these speeds.

This tracks - has been my experience exactly. Not to mention there isn’t particularly a significant lift in inaccuracy or speed. As things stand, to me it is the worst of both worlds. Expensive and inaccurate.

Taking a $20b loan from TD Bank + sitting on $9b CASH + GameStop stock for the rest. They’ve made an interesting proposal around using 1600 GameStop locations for fulfilment. Smart if they can make it work. Update: Numbers still don’t add t

I’m surprised no one is commenting on how cheap this is compared to Opus 4.x and GPT-5.5. $1.25 / $2.50 for every M input and output tokens. Is this is a smaller less powerful model? What am I missing?

Posting a question here for anyone on hiring panels - is AI tooling generally allowed during coding interviews now? Are coding interviews still a thing? Just wondering where the general landscape is today. I'm coming out of semi-IC-ret

Hmm the problem is many cities don’t treat bike lanes for exclusive bike use. It’s “suggestive” at best. Though I don’t know enough about SF rules to weigh in on this specific issue.

AI is creating problems. This isn’t one of them. Engineers are going to now think at a higher level of abstraction. No one misses coding in assembly.

Especially in that age when compute was precious, and scaling horizontally looked nothing like how it does today. This is a time before the Intel 386 which ran at either 16Mhz or 33Mhz :) So it must have been preferable to reduce the worklo

My very personal take (which can be completely wrong) is that few dynasties were comparable to the vastness of Mughals in this particular era. All the Indian princely states were a lot smaller by comparison, in this time period at least. On

They might. Elon will probably use his SpaceX/xAI spend (future SpaceX space datacenter dollars) as leverage. NVIDIA is so used to doing such deals by now, they’ll probably take it.

I think what made Mythos a big deal is not that it could find vulnerabilities. Opus can do that too. But Mythos went a step further and autonomously built exploits very successfully whereas Opus struggled to do that. Most modern day exploit

This is the right way forward for open-source. Correct attribution - by tightening the connection between agents and the humans behind them, and putting the onus on the human to vet the agent output. Thank you Linus.
