It's hard to tell since I don't have an equivalent control device, but I believe I do. It feels like with the limited screen real-estate, where my code takes up about 60% of the screen and a terminal for the rest, I can focus a lot better w

My strategy is similar: For code-related tasks, I prefer the portability of my 13" laptop with multiple virtual desktops. When I find myself in a rut, I'll get up and relocate and regain productivity immediately. I'll usually start my day a

http://padmapper.com/ and co are great for finding apartment rentals, but I suggest you consider something like http://airbnb.com/ too. It's very difficult finding a rental with less than a 12 month lease in SF. The best part of Airbnb

What about storing Bitcoins in "the cloud" (effectively becoming a bank)? Or even something like Dropbox, especially if the drive becomes password-encrypted without internet and there's a remote-disconnect feature when online.

Whenever I see "$ donated to University of Waterloo" I always think of 2002 when Microsoft donated $2mil to Waterloo under the condition that they switch their existing curriculum from teaching C++ to C#. http://arstechnica.com/old/content

I benchmarked all the variations on Chrome, var foo = +new Date() was the fastest—not by a huge amount than the rest, but I remember there was one approach that was especially slow. I did this while optimizing performance of a fast-paced ga

Very awesome! Suggestions: 1. Revamp the "Recently viewed" and "new" lists to show the domains instead of the slugs. 2. Add "Most popular CSS pivots" for global and for a specific domain, track the most popular domains for pivots. Possibly

I would say that falls under "I have debt." Perhaps better phrased is "I can't afford to bootstrap." At the very least, it limits your options in terms of what kind of startup path you take. If you can't afford to bootstrap, then your only

Have you looked at how your competitors make money? This reminds me of omg-facts.com which I follow on Twitter and greatly enjoy (@OMGFacts). Seems they're reasonably successful with 1.6mil followers and various subcategory accounts (OMGFac

I bet the majority of requests go unanswered because the recipient simply doesn't understand what they need to do to participate. Beating around the bush is self-sabotage. Be specific, demanding, but polite. If you know how the person can h

Another anecdote for you: I fall in the 50% who did not succeed. I stepped down from Contagion Health (imoveyou.com, S2010) at the end of our batch, but my co-founder Jen is still at it and looking for a new co-founder. Reasons for failure
